Apex Trader Funding is the Austin, Texas futures prop firm founded by Darrell Martin, and by review count the biggest in the business: 4.2/5 on Trustpilot from more than 21,000 reviews, and nearly $878 million paid to traders since 2022 by its own counter. On March 1, 2026 it replaced its old monthly plans with Apex 4.0: two evaluation types — Intraday Trail and EOD Trail — in 25K, 50K, 100K and 150K, sold for a one-time fee with 30 days to pass and no resets.
This review covers what each evaluation costs, how the two drawdowns work, the rules on the funded Performance Account (PA), the six-payout structure, the invite-only live program, and how we score it — 7.9/10 (Strong) for its best plan on the Enigma Score. Live prices are on the Apex firm page. FundedEnigma has no Apex code yet; Apex runs its own sale, covered below.
Apex 4.0 prices: Intraday or EOD, with or without an activation fee
Each type is sold two ways. Standard evaluations are cheaper and you pay a one-time PA activation fee when you pass; No Activation Fee evaluations cost more and activation is free. List prices verified October 3, 2026:
Intraday Trail, Standard: $167 (25K), $249 (50K), $790 (100K), $1,190 (150K), then activation of $79 / $89 / $109 / $139. EOD Trail, Standard: $490 / $590 / $1,190 / $2,190, then $99 / $119 / $129 / $149. No Activation Fee: Intraday $690 / $490 / $590 / $1,890; EOD $1,090 / $1,190 / $1,590 / $2,490. (Yes — the 25K Intraday no-fee account is listed above the 50K.) Five-packs of one size share a single 30-day clock.
The sale: Apex currently shows up to 90% off any evaluation, with a countdown ending October 13, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET — the 50K Intraday evaluation drops to $24.90. The countdown has reset before, so treat the end date loosely. Apex says its discount codes do not apply to resets or PA activation fees, so budget the activation fee at full price. The 100K and 150K Intraday and every EOD size were repriced upward in late September.
The evaluation: one day to pass, no consistency rule
Profit targets are $1,500 / $3,000 / $6,000 / $9,000 against a maximum drawdown of $1,000 / $2,000 / $3,000 / $4,000, with 4 / 6 / 8 / 12 minis (or 10× micros). You can pass in a single day, there is no consistency rule in the evaluation, and you have 30 calendar days — the evaluation expires at 6 PM ET on day 30, with no extensions and no resets.
Intraday Trail follows your peak balance in real time, open profit included, and never moves down; touching it ends the evaluation. It has no daily loss limit. EOD Trail recalculates once a day from your closing balance and is enforced in real time the next session, and it adds a daily loss limit ($500 / $1,000 / $1,500 / $2,000) that pauses you for the day rather than failing you. On Rithmic and WealthCharts the evaluation drawdown stops trailing at the profit-target balance; on Tradovate it never stops trailing in the evaluation — worth knowing before you pick a platform.
Trading rules
Platforms: Rithmic, Tradovate or WealthCharts, chosen at purchase and not convertible. Everything must be flat by 4:59 PM ET — no overnight or weekend holds. News trading is allowed with your normal strategy, but two-sided news straddles are not. Automation and algorithms are not allowed, and neither is copying trades with other traders.
Apex's prohibited list is long and enforced at payout time: hedging (including across correlated instruments), trading without a stop, lopsided risk such as a 5-tick target against a 150-tick stop, using the drawdown as your stop, stockpiling evaluations to gamble, bracket orders left on both sides, account sharing, VPNs that hide your location, and cards not in your own name. Payment is by Visa, Mastercard or Discover; Apex does not refund evaluations. Its site footer says the service is intended for US users while its help centre lists 100+ countries — check your country before buying.
The Performance Account
Pay the activation fee within seven days of passing (or nothing, on a no-fee evaluation) and you get a simulated funded PA with the same drawdown amount and type. The drawdown stops trailing once it reaches your start + $100 ($50,100 on the 50K). Both PA types carry a daily loss limit that pauses trading, and contracts scale with profit: the 50K starts at 2 contracts and a $1,000 daily limit, reaching 4 contracts above $3,000 of profit; the 150K starts at 4 and reaches 10.
A PA needs at least two days of $50+ profit in every rolling 30 days or it goes dormant at 15 days and closes at 30. You can hold up to 20 PAs at once across all Apex products.
Payouts: 100%, weekly, six times
A payout needs five qualifying days (Intraday $100 / $200 / $250 / $300 of profit a day by size; EOD $100 / $250 / $300 / $350), a balance of at least the safety net + $500 ($52,600 on the 50K), a $500 minimum request — and the PA 50% consistency rule: no single day may be 50% or more of the profit since your last payout. You keep 100% of every approved payout, and you can request one about once a week.
Each PA pays at most six times, then closes, with a cap per payout. Intraday 50K: $1,500, $2,000, $2,500, $2,500, $3,000, $3,000. EOD 50K: $1,500, $1,500, $2,000, $2,500, $2,500, $3,000. The 150K caps run $2,500 up to $5,000; the 25K is $1,000 each time. That makes the maximum from one 50K PA $14,500 (Intraday) or $13,000 (EOD) — the trade-off for the 100% split.
Going live
Live accounts are by invitation; Apex says it may start watching a trader after three consecutive withdrawals from one PA. Selection closes your simulated accounts. Live accounts start at $0 with a $3,000 end-of-day drawdown and 3 minis, pay 90/10 with daily withdrawals from $500 above a $3,100 safety net, and a "Bonus Vault" built from your PA balances pays out alongside live withdrawals.
Rating: 7.9/10 and who Apex is for
The Enigma Score rates Apex's best plan — the EOD Trail 100K with no activation fee, $159 all-in at the current sale — 7.9/10 (Strong): an end-of-day drawdown at both stages that locks once funded, no consistency rule to pass, a one-day pass and the largest account allowance in futures (20 PAs) on one side; the daily loss limit, the PA consistency rule and the six-payout ceiling on the other. Against Topstep, Apex is the faster, cheaper-on-sale start with more platforms; Topstep has the stronger funded structure and a defined live path. Apex is also compared with Bulenox and FundedNext.
Choose Apex if you want to pass fast during a sale, prefer Rithmic or Tradovate, trade manually with a defined stop, and plan to run several PAs. Look elsewhere if you trade with automation, hold overnight, or want one funded account that pays you indefinitely rather than six times. See how it ranks on the best futures prop firms list.
FAQ
How much does an Apex Trader Funding evaluation cost?
At list price: Intraday Trail $167 / $249 / $790 / $1,190 (25K–150K) plus a $79–$139 activation fee, or EOD Trail $490 / $590 / $1,190 / $2,190 plus $99–$149. No Activation Fee versions cost more up front. Apex is currently running up to 90% off evaluations (activation fees excluded). Prices verified October 3, 2026.
Is Apex drawdown trailing or end of day?
You choose: Intraday Trail follows your peak balance in real time, including open profit; EOD Trail updates once a day from your closing balance. On the funded PA both stop trailing at your starting balance + $100.
Does Apex have a consistency rule?
Not in the evaluation. On the Performance Account, no single day may be 50% or more of the profit since your last payout before you can request a payout.
How much can I withdraw from an Apex PA?
Up to six payouts per PA, each capped — on the 50K, $1,500 rising to $3,000 — at 100% of the approved amount, roughly weekly after five qualifying days. The PA closes after the sixth payout.
Can I use a trading bot at Apex?
No. Apex does not allow automation or algorithms, and copying trades with other traders is prohibited.
Is there an Apex discount code on FundedEnigma?
Not yet — FundedEnigma has no Apex affiliate code. Apex runs its own sale (up to 90% off evaluations at the time of writing); the firm page shows the current price.
